Light, Midsize or Heavy Jet: How to Choose

Category guidance with indicative rates from

The correct category comes from the complete mission. Passengers and distance are useful guides, but baggage, runway, fuel, weather and availability can change the recommended aircraft.

CategoryIndicative useRate from
LightSmaller groups and regional routes where capacity and range fit.$4,620 USD/hr
MidsizeMore cabin or range; the exact configuration is confirmed.$4,620 USD/hr
HeavyMore range or capacity, subject to aircraft and operator.$10,560 USD/hr

Indicative guidance-from amounts per flight hour. They are neither route totals nor quotes; the final proposal confirms aircraft, applicable items and price.

What Actually Changes

  • Usable capacity: validated with passengers, baggage by weight and volume, fuel and configuration.
  • Range: a sheet is a reference; wind, runway, payload and reserves can require another aircraft or a stop.
  • Cabin: lavatory, height, connectivity, catering and seating vary even within the same model.
  • Price: reflects the actual mission, including positioning, airports, permits, waiting, overnight costs and applicable services.

How VolarJets Recommends

Capacity, runway and range must be validated for the specific mission. VolarJets does not compare operators or promise a model from a generic rule; the provider must review a specific solution for groups over 14.

For example, six passengers with large bags may need more usable capacity than the seat count suggests, while a short trip from a demanding runway can rule out an aircraft with ample range. International missions also introduce permits, the airport of entry and fuel reserves. Two enquiries for the same route can therefore require different categories and produce different final prices.
